SECTION 1
Choosing a Program — 1st, 2nd and 3rd Choice
The application for admission to the University allows for three program choices. If you are considering applying to a quota or limited-enrolment program, you may wish to indicate a second or third choice of program on your application.
If you are a qualified applicant refused in competition to the program of your first choice, you will automatically be considered for the second or third choice listed on your application form. The Office of the Registrar will only consider you for a second or third choice providing you have entered that information in Section 1 of the application form or, following application, upon written request to the Office.
Some candidates enter a second-choice program with the intention of transferring to their desired faculty/program at the earliest opportunity. If you are considering a second-choice program, you should not view it as a temporary situation, but should only undertake it if you intend to follow the program.
Applicants who indicate more than one choice of program with additional requirements must comply with the application requirements for each program within the specified deadlines. Applicants should not wait for a decision on their first choice before complying with the requirements for their second or third choice. Please refer to the appropriate
faculty sections.

NOTE: A Minor program can only be taken in combination with another Minor, Major or Specialization program. Application to a single Minor will not be considered.

Co-operative Education Programs
Co-operative education is an educational process in which academic study terms alternate with work terms in the private and public sectors to give students paid, on-the-job experience while continuing to study towards a university degree.

Students must apply to an academic discipline (example BA,Major Economics) and at the same time request acceptance into the Institute for Co-operative Education by indicating a check mark in the appropriate Co-op box in Section 1 of the General Application Form. At Concordia University, the Co-op format normally requires six academic terms interspersed with four work terms.
