Application Process Checklist
Postmark deadlines:
- November 15 - Early Decision Admission Application Deadline
- December 15 - Early Action and Regents’ Scholarship Application Deadlines
- January 15 - Deadline for Submitting Audition Tape for Music Scholarship Application
- February 1 - Regular Decision Application Priority Date
- February 15 - Scholarship Applications Deadline (Presidential, Dean’s, Community Service, Lutheran Leadership and TRIO)
- March 1 - Financial Aid Application Priority Date
Early decision candidates:

Complete the Early Decision Agreement. Your Early Decision application will not be complete until the Admissions Office has received this form.
All candidates:

Complete Part One: Personal Information and submit it via secure server, along with the non-refundable $35 application fee, to the Admissions Office as soon as possible in the senior year. If the application fee creates a financial hardship, please discuss with your high school guidance counselor or other school official the option of requesting a fee waiver.

Complete Part Two: Personal Statements and submit it to the Admissions Office. Be sure to answer all questions thoroughly.

Give the Secondary School Record to your secondary school counselor to complete and return with your official transcript:
- through your junior year (Early Decision only)
- through the first quarter of your senior year (Early Action only)
- through the first trimester of your senior year (Early Action or Regular Admission)
- through the first semester of your senior year (Regular Admission)

Take the ACT or SAT I and have your results sent to St. Olaf, either officially from the testing agency or on your official high school transcript. Check with your counselor for testing dates and locations in or near your community.

Ask two teachers who know you well to complete the Academic Recommendation forms (application forms 4A and 4B). These recommendations must be completed by someone who has taught you in an academic subject (e.g., English, mathematics, etc.). Have both teachers return the forms directly to the Admissions Office by the appropriate priority date. Additional references, either personal or from a coach or music director, are welcome, but may not be used in place of the two Academic Recommendations.
Bachelor of Music Candidates:

Contact the Music Department at (507) 646-3297 prior to December 15 for information regarding auditions, scholarships, and the Bachelor of Music program. Candidates are not admitted to the Bachelor of Music program until they have been admitted to the college using the online application forms and have successfully completed the audition process.
Buntrock Scholarship Candidates:

Candidates who wish to compete for the Regent's Scholarship must apply under the Early Decision or Early Action process.
Financial aid candidates:

If you are applying for financial assistance, complete and return the 2002-03 CSS Profile, the 2002-03 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and copies of parent and student 2001 federal tax returns by the March 1 priority date.
