Instructions for Application for Weekend College Admission


Official transcripts must be received to support the application. An official transcript is one that is mailed directly to the College of St. Catherine from each institution attended. Requesting official transcripts is the responsibility of the applicant. Please use the transcript request forms provided with this application to request official transcripts.

Freshman/transfer/second degree applicants

Second degree applicants are those who presently have a baccalaureate degree and wish to complete a second baccalaureate degree. This is a requirement for social work majors only.

Applications are complete only when the following have been received in the Office of Weekend College Admission:
  • The application for admission
  • A nonrefundable application fee of $25
  • Official high school transcripts. Applicants who have not graduated from high school must submit official scores for the General Education Development Test (GED). Transcripts from schools that no longer exist or official GED scores may be obtained by sending a written request to your state Office of Children, Families and Learning
  • Official transcripts from any and all post-high school educational institutions (colleges, technical, medical, business and professional schools, etc.) previously attended whether or not credits were earned

Applicants for whom English is a second language must take the English Proficiency Test at the College of St. Catherine. Contact the Office of Weekend College Admission for more information.

Second major applicants

Second major applicants are those who already have received a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and wish to complete course work for another major.

Second major applications are complete when the following have been received in the Office of Weekend College Admission:
  • The application for admission
  • A nonrefundable application fee of $25
  • Official transcripts from any and all post-high school educational institutions (colleges, technical, medical, business and professional schools, etc.) previously attended whether or not credits were earned

Reapply/Readmission applicants

Applicants seeking readmission to the college must forward the following to the Office of Weekend College Admission:
  • The application for admission
  • Official transcripts from colleges attended since leaving the College of St. Catherine.
  • No application fee is required. Please contact Weekend College if absence is more than two years to verify transcripts are still on file.

Nondegree applicants

Nondegree applicants are students who wish to take courses at St. Catherine's for personal or professional development.

Nondegree applications are complete when the following have been received in the Office of Weekend College Admission:
  • The application for admission
  • A nonrefundable application fee of $25
  • Unofficial transcripts from the last institution attended

Processing of your application

The College of St. Catherine processes applications as they are received. There is no application deadline; however, it is recommended that all application materials be received by the Office of Weekend College three weeks prior to class. Applicants will be notified of the admission decision within two weeks after the application file is complete and has been evaluated by the Admission Committee. On occasion, the Admission Committee may request additional information, such as the Test of Standard Written English (administered by the Office of Weekend College Admission) or an interview. You will be notified if any additional information is required.

Tuition Deposit

Accepted students are asked to submit a $100 tuition deposit. This deposit is refundable 14 calendar days prior to fall, winter and spring trimesters. This deposit must be paid before registering for classes.

Financial Aid

In order to be considered for financial aid, a College of St. Catherine Financial Aid Questionnaire and a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed by the applicant. An online FAFSA also is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Immunization

In accordance with the Minnesota College Immunization Law, the College of St. Catherine requires all students to submit immunization information to the college before they will be allowed to register.
