Instructions for Application for Transfer Undergraduate Admission

Applicant checklist

Note regarding official transcripts
An official transcript is one that is sent directly from the institution attended to the College of St. Catherine Office of Admission. Please use the transcript request forms provided with this application to request official transcripts.

Transfer/second degree applicants
Applications are complete only when the following have been received in the Office of Admission:
  • The application for admission.

  • Official high school transcripts. Applicants who have not graduated from high school must submit official scores for the General Education Development Test (GED).

  • Official transcripts from any and all post-high school educational institutions (colleges or technical schools, etc.) previously attended whether or not credits were earned.
  • A nonrefundable $20 application fee or fee waiver card.
Applicants for whom English is a second language may be required to take the English Language Assessment Test at the College of St. Catherine. TOEFL or MELAB scores may be submitted if either test has already been taken. Contact the Office of Admission for more information.

Minneapolis applicants
(Current/former College of St. Catherine--Minneapolis applicants)
Applicants seeking admission to the St. Paul campus must forward the following to the Office of Admission (no application fee is required):
  • The application for admission.

  • Official transcripts not already on file at the Minneapolis campus.

Second major applicants
(Applicants who already have received a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and wish to complete course work for another major)
Second major applications are complete when the following have been received in the Office of Admission:
  • The application for admission.

  • Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended.

  • A nonrefundable application fee of $20 or alumnae fee-waiver card.

Nondegree applicants
(Students who wish to take courses at St. Catherine's for personal or professional development)
Nondegree applications are complete when the following have been received in the Office of Admission:
  • The application for admission.

  • Unofficial transcripts from the last institution attended.

  • A nonrefundable application fee of $20 or alumnae fee-waiver card.

Certificate applicants
Certificate applications are complete when the following have been received in the Office of Admission:
  • The application for admission.

  • Unofficial transcripts from all post-high school educational institutions

  • Unofficial high school transcripts, or GED.

  • A nonrefundable application fee of $20 or alumnae fee-waiver card.

Processing your application
The College of St. Catherine processes applications on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of the admission decision within three weeks after the application file is complete and has been evaluated by the admission committee. On occasion, the admission committee may defer a decision on a candidate's admission until further file information such as letters of recommendation, the Test of Standard Written English administered by the Office of Admission or a written personal statement has been received. An interview also may be required. The Office of Admission will inform students if additional information is needed. Accepted students are asked to make a $100 tuition deposit. Day Program deposit refund dates are May 1 for fall semester and January 1 for winter semester.

Financial aid
In order to be considered for financial aid, you must file a College of St. Catherine Financial Aid Questionnaire and a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Important: International Students
All transfer and freshman international students and students who have studied for most of their lives in other countries should request special application materials for international students. Complete applications must be received by June 15 for September admission (fall term) or November 15 for February admission (winter term). International students applying for scholarships must apply by May 15 or October 15 for fall and winter terms respectively.
