Limited financial assistance is available to undergraduate students from abroad. Students from abroad must provide evidence that they are able to provide a total of $25,600 U.S. dollars for the first year of study. Immigration regulations do not permit a student from abroad to undertake part-time employment off-campus during the first year of study. An estimate of expenses for the first 12 months of study is as follows:
Tuition & Fees/8 month academic year | $13,000 |
---|---|

Newly admitted students must have on account, prior to arrival in the United States of America sufficient monies for the first year's tuition, room and board, plus money to cover incidental expenses during the first few weeks of the academic year.
We require that all international students provide financial resources for the first year of their education. The amount listed above is what an international student must have available before admission and subsequent visa/passport documentation can be processed. By law, established by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) non-US citizens must provide documentation before we can issue the educational I-20 form. After the first year, the University has available a limited number of scholarships which are awarded based upon academic performance and tuition need. Only 15 of these awards are available each year and only cover the cost of tuition. Room, board, books, transportation, and personal needs are the responsibility of the student. Consequently, while we would welcome your arrival at California University, we must first verify your financial ability to attend.
The University reserves the right to require the admitted student to make up English deficiencies at his own expense and, possibly without degree credit. Students who have completed some university level work abroad or in the United States may apply for admission with advanced standing (to enter California University of PA above the first year level). Credits for courses taken at other institutions will be evaluated as soon as transcripts have been received.
Students who are accepted for admission will receive from the Foreign Student Advisor the appropriate form for obtaining a United States visa, after one year's expenses ($25,600 U.S. dollars) is received at California University of PA.
