Financial Aid at Kalamazoo College

Financial aid can help fill the gap between the cost of a college education and what you are expected to pay. In a typical year, about 85% of Kalamazoo College students receive some type of financial assistance. Financial aid usually comes in a package that combines some or all of the following sources:
Grants and Scholarships--forms of gift assistance offered by Kalamazoo College, the federal and state governments, and private organizations. They do not require repayment.
Educational Loans--available to students and parents from various government and private agencies. They must be repaid at the end of a designated period of time.
Student Employment--a way you can help pay for your education. If you qualify for the Federal Work-Study Program, you may work from five to ten hours a week on campus during the academic year.
Payment Plans--available to help you and your family manage college costs.
If financial need exists beyond your family resources, we will use federal, state, and College funds to offer a financial aid package of grants, work-study, and loans. To be considered for the maximum amount of available funds, you must have submitted all of the following by February 15:
  • a complete Application for Admission
  • the Kalamazoo College Supplement or the CSS PROFILE Form
  • the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Applicants who file after February 15 will be considered for financial aid; funds, however, may be limited.
