Admissions Information

The admission policy of Georgia College & State University (GC&SU) is to accept those applicants who provide evidence of a reasonable potential for success at the university. A potential student is considered for admission without regard to race, creed, sex, marital status, disability, or national origin. Admission to GC&SU is not a guarantee of admission to a particular college, school, or major. Separate and sometimes higher requirements are described in the GC&SU catalog for admission into a college, school, and major. Disabled students are advised to visit the campus to determine how their specific disability may be accommodated.

GC&SU admissions decisions are made on a timely basis once all needed documents are received. Acceptance or denial of each applicant is determined by the Office of Admissions, subject to the right as outlined by the university and as provided by the bylaws of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. An applicant should contact the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services regarding details of the appeals procedure.

Students furnishing the college with false, incomplete, or misleading information relating to their application or academic record will be subject to rejection or dismissal.

Applicants who do not enroll for the term for which they are accepted must re-apply for admission if they wish to enter GC&SU at a later date. Former GC&SU applicants/students do not have to pay the $25.00 non-refundable application fee. These students should contact the admissions office directly for an application for admission. The Admissions Office phone number is 912-445-2771 or toll-free from within Georgia 1-800-342-0471. The e-mail address is gcsu@mail.gcsu.edu. The postal address is Georgia College & State University, Office of Admissions, CBX 023, Milledgeville, GA 31061. The admissions office will fax (within the US) or mail an application form for use by former applicants/students. The on-line application will not be transmitted without the payment of the $25.00 non-refundable application fee. Students may re-apply by telephone if their application for admission is no more than one year old.
