MASTER OF ARTS IN THEOLOGY
Admission Requirements
Before the DSPT Admissions Committee can act on your application, the following items must be submitted to the Admissions Office:
- APPLICATION FORM - Complete and submit the online application form with the paid application fee.
- COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS - Request official transcripts of all previous college work showing a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies, philosophy or its equivalent from an accredited institution, and a grade point average of 3.0 (B) or above to be sent directly to the DSPT Admissions Office.
- GRE SCORES - Request an official transcript of your Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores to be sent directly to the DSPT Admissions Office. For test information contact www.gre.org.
The scores may be no older than 5 years from the date of application.
- ACADEMIC RECOMMENDATIONS - Download three letters of recommendation forms and send them to your three recommenders. Note that you may sign the waiver statement on each form allowing you to waive your right to access under provisions of the Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974
- ESSAY - Compose a statement of purpose (250 word essay) regarding your interests and goals in master's studies in theology (see page 3 of Application Form). You may write your essay on a word processing document, then cut and paste the document into the application form.
International students must have a satisfactory score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or its equivalent. For test information contact: www.toefl.org.
