1. Complete the Carson-Newman College Application for Admission (Note: The application fee for international students is $50.00). The
application fee must be paid online for successful submission of the online
application.

2. Complete the
Confirmation of Financial Support form. Be sure to provide all required
supporting documents.
|
|
3. Submit official
transcripts of all secondary and university work. These must be originals (not
photocopies). If the transcripts are not in English, a certified English
translation must be provided. Certified results of any national
examinations (GCE, ICSE, etc.) or standard examination for entry into higher
education in your
country may be helpful in facilitating the admission process and should
be submitted. All university level studies must also be evaluated for advanced
standing by a
professional credentials evaluation service (see list of approved
agencies.)

4. A TOEFL, SAT or ACT score. Students whose native language
is English or who plan to participate in varsity sports must submit
an SAT or ACT score. These scores should be sent directly from the
testing agency. Our institutional code for the SAT and the TOEFL is
1102, and for the ACT it is 3950. (ELI applicants are exempt from
this requirement.)

5. Students desiring
to apply for an Athletic scholarship should provide a letter of interest
addressed to the Athletic Director, with supporting evidence of athletic
ability such as a recommendation from a coach, a video, etc. Students
desiring to apply for a Music Performance scholarship should likewise provide a
letter of interest addressed to the Chair of the Music Department, with
supporting evidence of music performance abilities such as a video or audio
recording,
previous awards, etc. Academic scholarships will be awarded based upon
SAT or ACT score, high school GPA, class rank, etc. There are also a limited
number of
on-campus work-study positions.

Deadlines for submitting
applications: You may apply to Carson-Newman at any time after
completing your junior year of secondary school (grade 11). However,
it is recommended that applicants complete all of the above steps by
June 1 for admission for the fall semester and by November 1 for the
spring semester. Later applicants may not be eligible for financial
aid, may not get the residence hall assignment that they prefer, and
may receive their I-20 too late to apply for their visa.
