To receive the fullest consideration and to avoid delays in assembling academic credentials, please follow the guidelines below. We strongly urge you to apply as early as possible. If you live outside the European community, you must allow for enough time to acquire your student visa—that process can take place only after you have received a letter of acceptance. All documents must be officially certified and must be submitted in either English or French.
  • Candidates living in North America should send all materials to the United States Office by May 1 for fall semester; or by December 1 for spring semester.

  • All other candidates should send their materials to the Paris International Admissions Office by July 1 for fall semester; or by December 1 for spring semester.

Late applications will be accepted as spaces remain available.

Once your application is complete, a decision is generally sent within two weeks.


All Candidates
must submit:
Form 1, the Candidate’s Information.

The application essay (in English; included on page 2 of the online application).

The $50 application fee (paid online via secure server upon submission of the online application).


Freshman

Visiting
Candidates

must also submit:
Two letters of recommendation (Form 2 and Form 3).

Official and certified transcripts/school report which includes the last three years.

  • French educational system candidates should submit the Baccalauréat diploma and relevé de notes; the livret scolaire or bulletins from Seconde, Première, and Terminale.

  • British educational system candidates should submit school reports from the last two years and "A" level results.

  • Other educational system candidates should submit the last three years of grades and examination results obtained, i.e., German Abitur, International Baccalaureate, Italian Maturità, etc.
SAT or ACT scores (recommended for all applicants; required of applicants living in the U.S.A.). The AUP codes are SAT 0866/ACT 5295.

Transfer
Candidates

must also submit:
Official transcripts for all college or university work undertaken. If you have completed fewer than 45 semester hours, please submit a secondary school transcript and results of SAT or ACT testing, if available.

Faculty recommendation (Form 3).

Dean’s recommendation, if in the U.S. system of education (Form 4).

A second faculty recommendation for applicants not in the U.S. system.


Visiting
Students

also submit:

Your application will not ready for evaluation unles we have a means of assessing your level of English language proficiency. You must provide the following information:

A writing sample proctores by a high school or other official (this test will be sent by the Admission office and is in addition to the Admission essay0; and

TOEFL results (Must be less than two years old. Students who encounter difficulties in meeting this requirement must contact the Admission office for instructions).

Candidates may satisfy both of these requirements by taking AUP's English pre-placement test which contains both a multiple choice exam and a writing sample. This test is given only at AUP and can be scheduled to coincide with a visit to AUP.
