Additional Information Regarding English Proficiency
1. For students who do not speak English as their first language, we require
that the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) be taken to assess your
language ability. To be a candidate for the undergraduate program at Saint
Michael's we require a TOEFL score of 550 or higher (213 on the computer-based
test).
2. For students scoring below a 550 on the TOEFL, we offer provisional
admission to Saint Michael's. Coursework for the first semester(s) is taken in
Saint Michael's Academic English Program, which offers academic English to
assist students in making the transition to an American university.
Provisionally admitted students are fully admitted to Saint Michael's upon
successful completion of the Academic English Program.
