invites you to apply for admission. Your application will give our
admissions counselors the information they need to aid in your college
application process. Your application will receive special attention by
our admissions staff who look forward to assiting you as you seek
admission to CU.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission Criteria for Freshman Applicants
High school graduates and college transfers with fewer than 12 semester
hours may be eligible for admission, provided they have fulfilled at least
one of the following criteria:
- Cumulative high school GPA of 2.50, or
- A verbal SAT-1 of 480 or above, or
- An ACT composite score of 18 or above
For high school students completing their secondary education through a
G.E.D. program, Concordia University requires a composite test score
average of 50, with no single score below 48.
Admission Criteria for Transfer Applicants
College transfer students desiring admission to CU may be considered for
admission only if they have attended an accredited college or university
for a minimum of 12 semester hours in coursework approved by the
Registrar.
Transfer students with more than 12 semester hours may be eligible for
admission provided they have a 2.00 cumulative grade point average.
Transferable hours which are ten years and older will fulfill applicable
course requirements, but will not figure into the student's cumulative
grade point average.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Submit an undergraduate application for admission.
- Submit $10.00 non-refundable application fee.
- Request official transcripts of work completed to date be sent to CU.
High school students may submit an academic transcript listing coursework
through their seventh semester. College transfer students must submit
transcripts for each institution previously attended. All final
transcripts are required prior to registration and enrollment.
- Incoming freshman must have SAT-1 or ACT scores sent to CU. The
college code numbers for the tests are SAT 4079; ACT 3458.
- Request a current academic instructor or
employer/supervisor to submit a recommendation to CU.
DEADLINES
Concordia University has a rolling admissions process. However, applications submitted by the following dates are given priority.
- Fall Semester - April 1
- Spring Semester - December 1
- Summer Semester - April 1
APPLICATION DECISION
The student will be notified of the admission decision by mail
approximately two weeks after the application file has been completed.
When acceptance is granted, the student will receive all necessary forms,
including:
- A request for a $100 deposit to confirm enrollment. This deposit is
applied directly to the student's tuition. For Fall Semester, the deposit
must be paid by May 1 or 30 days after acceptance, if acceptance is
granted after May 1. The deposit is non-refundable after June 1. For
Spring Semester, the deposit is due November 1, and is non-refundable
after December 1. For Summer Semester, the deposit is due March 1 and is
non-refundable after April 1.
- Housing Application Form with $50.00 deposit.
- Health History Form.
- Immunization Data Form (required by Oregon State Law). Students will
not be allowed to register if the form has not been received by Health
Services.
