APPLICATION
PLANS AND DATES

Early Decision applicants should know by mid-autumn that Centre
is their first choice college. Early Decision applicants must apply by
November
15 and will be notified of admission and scholarship decisions around
December
15. ED candidates may apply for financial aid and receive
notification in late December. Students admitted
under Early Decision must accept or decline Centre’s offer of admission
by January 15. Those who accept must submit a $250 enrollment deposit
and withdraw applications to all other colleges.

Early Action applicants must apply by December
1 and will be notified around January 1.
Students admitted under Early Action receive notification about scholarships
and financial aid in March and have until May 1
to accept or decline Centre’s offer of admission. Those who accept must
submit a $250 enrollment deposit.

Regular Decision applicants must apply by February
1 and will be notified around March 1.
Students admitted under Regular Decision receive notification about scholarships
and financial aid in March and have until May 1 to accept or decline
Centre’s offer of admission. Those who accept must submit a $250 enrollment
deposit.

Freshmen applications received after February
1 will be reviewed on a space available basis.

Transfer applications
for the fall term are
due August 1.

Important: In fairness to our applicants,
Centre uses the postmark on the envelope to determine timeliness. Please
make sure your application or deposit is postmarked no later than the deadline
dates listed above.
Application materials: Please submit the following required
items, postmarked by the appropriate deadline.

School Report form, completed by your counselor, with an official
transcript of your high school academic record attached. (Freshmen applicants
only)

Teacher Evaluation, completed by a teacher who has taught you in
junior or senior year in one of the following subjects: English, mathematics,
history, science, or foreign language. (Freshmen applicants only)

Score reports of all SAT-I or ACT tests. A photocopy of a score
report sent by your high school is also acceptable. (Freshmen applicants
only)

An official school report of your grades from the first semester
of your senior year. (Freshmen applicants only)
Optional items: The Parent Recommendation
is
welcome but not required. If appropriate, an applicant may submit
an additional evaluation from a teacher in the fine arts. Creative
samples are also welcome; please send copies of your work, as
they will not be returned.
Transfer applicants must also submit

Official college transcripts from all college or universities attended.

A brief statement explaining why you wish to transfer.

Dean’s statement - will be provided upon application.
International applicants, who hold or expect to obtain a temporary,
non-immigrant student visa, may submit this application but may be asked
to provide supplemental information.
FINANCIAL AID
Over half of Centre students receive need-based financial aid. Applicants
for financial aid must submit the following documents:
Early Decision aid applicants must submit this form postmarked
by November 15. Eligible accepted students will receive commitments of
scholarship and financial aid in late December.
Early Action applicants may choose to submit this form if
they wish to receive an early estimate of potential financial assistance.

Centre Aid Form must be submitted directly to Centre College by
March 1. This form is intended for Early Action and Regular Decision applicants
for financial assistance.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available in early
December at high school guidance offices or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov,
submitted to federal processors by February 15. All applicants for financial
assistance, regardless of their application plan, must submit this form.
MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
To reward academic excellence, extracurricular talent, and experience
in service and leadership, Centre offers a broad range of merit scholarships.
All admitted students will be considered for scholarships; there
is no additional application required. Early
Decision applicants will be notified of scholarships in late December.
Early Action and Regular Decision students will be notified in mid-March.
